My wife of 50 years, Jo Beth, was a teacher in the Eufaula Public School system. We have one son, Dr. Phil Barton who is a Pediatric Intensive Care Specialist at St. Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa. We also have two grandchildren.
I was employed as an Oklahoma State Water Patrolman from 1965-1971 and then was employed by the Dept. of Human Services as a social worker. In 1988 I served as County Director until my retirement in 2003.
I care about Eufaula and all of its citizens. Living on Lake Eufaula helps give great possibilities for the future. The mayor and city council want to try and make our town one of the best places to live. I think with all of us working together, we can make this one of the best small towns in Oklahoma.
