Eufaula Animal Shelter

"The mission of the Eufaula Animal Shelter with the help of local volunteers is to facilitate the placement of stray and unwanted animals and place pets in desirable homes; to establish and maintain an animal shelter and associated procedures which promote the health, care and handling, and prevent over population and the prevention of cruelty to animals. Although we are not a animal rescue, our ultimate future goal is that the animals in our care, our guests, are never euthanized merely because we lack space or because the animal’s stay with us has exceeded a predefined amount of time.  I am working with the city council to update and change the ordinances that are now in place”.  Since I have been in office we have had to euthanize only two dogs because they were gravely ill.  With the help of our generous volunteers our dogs have been placed in adoptive or foster homes until they can be adopted. Our plan is to build a better facility than the local dog pound we have now.  All donations may be made out to the Eufaula Animal Shelter.  You may specify building fund or medical fund to help hurt or sick animals that may have a chance at life.  Also we encourage spaying and neutering to curtail the overpopulation of unwanted pets.  Won't you share some puppy love?  The Animal Shelter is currently open from 9am to 11 am for a meet and greet.  Please stop by or check out our current guests below."

The Eufaula Animal Shelter is seeking Volunteers to help care for the dogs. You can pick the times and days that you would like to volunteer. Animal care is needed daily. Morning and evening shifts available.

Help save a life, by simply volunteering one morning or evening a day or more!!  

FOSTER HOMES ARE NEEDED!  IF YOU HAVE A FENCED IN YARD AND CAN PROVIDE FOSTER CARE UNTIL ANIMALS ARE ADOPTED PLEASE CALL!
You may also sponsor a specific dog by helping with shots and spaying or neutering or medical care.  This makes the dog more adoptable.

Donations for the Eufaula Animal Shelter!
The Eufaula Animal Shelter has a small limited budget. The City Currently provides shelter, supplies, food and water. We are seeking Donations to help provide additional care the dogs may need. Donations can be made to Aday Veterinary Clinic (918-689-2271) or City Hall (918-689-2532). You may also donate food or supplies to the Shelter. Food and supplies can be dropped of at City Hall or the Eufaula Animal Shelter located south of town by the McIntosh County Fair Grounds.                     Your donation is helping to save a life of a dog!!!
